Sea Turtle
Boat Snorkeling

A more than 90% chance of encountering a wild sea turtle! A suitable course for the advanced beginner – a step up from Fish Eye’s Snorkeling Tour

This full featured Sea Turtle Boat Snorkeling Course includes an underwater observatory viewing and a lunch buffet. This course is highly recommended with the Dolphin Watching cruise option.

Put on your snorkeling equipment and life vest as we prepare to snorkel at our base located at Apra Bay.

Proceed to the snorkeling spot on a boat ride through the mangroves and gleaming sea.

When you arrive at the snorkeling spot, descend into the water from the platform located at the rear of the boat. Follow the lead of the snorkeling guide while slowly searching for turtles. The transfer boat follows from behind in case you get tired and need to go on board to take a break.

The underwater visibility is so clear that the world of grand blue can be seen up to 20 meters ahead.

You will witness a green sea turtle rising from the depths as it swims elegantly like a bird flying in the sky.

After encountering the sea turtle it is time to feed the fish. If you look closely, you may be able to see a group of transparent squids or a group of anemone fish that coexists with sea anemones.
After enjoying the snorkeling tour and a quick shower, it is time to proceed to the Fish Eye Marine Parks’ Underwater Observatory.

The underwater observatory is located in the beautiful coral reefs of Piti Bay, The gentle breeze is sure to be comforting as you make your way to the observatory. It is a perfect spot to take pictures and upload to your social network.

If you would like to enjoy more of the charm of Guam’s sea, we recommend that you take the course which includes the dolphin watching cruise. After a quick visit to the underwater observatory, you will enjoy a short trip to the marina and depart for a 45 minute dolphin watching cruise.

Both courses include an all you can eat lunch buffet at the restaurant located across the street from the underwater observatory. The restaurant is set in an island atmosphere and serves popular dishes such as the beef & vegetable curry and pancakes with a variety of delicious toppings.

Sea Turtle in Guam

Protected by Federal law the threatened sea turtles have recently become a common sight in the waters off of Guam. The three different species of sea turtles that can be found in the seas of Guam are the green sea turtle, the loggerhead sea turtle and the hawksbill sea turtle. You will likely encounter a green sea turtle or a hawksbill sea turtle during your snorkeling tour.
The green sea turtle’s name comes from the green colored fat tissue underneath its shell. The loggerhead sea turtles are brown in color and their face is similar to the famous Godzilla. The hawksbill sea turtle’s name comes from its beak which is shaped like the beak of a hawk. The beautiful shell of the hawksbill sea turtle was the primary source of turquoise material often used for decorative purposes and the reason of the decline in its population.
In 2017, an unusually tame green sea turtle nicknamed “Coco” temporarily made the area around Fish Eye’s underwater observatory its home and became a very popular mascot amongst the divers, snorkelers and guests who visited the area. Recently a young hawksbill sea turtle can be seen in the same area.
The sea turtles are protected by Federal law and must not be touched or fed. One must be very careful around these protected species.
